We started in November of 2006. A phone call one day from one brother to another about a conversation had started it all. Realizing the need, the word soon spread, the dream of a veteran minister to educate young ministers and heal the broken hearts of others began to take shape. Two other men with the same passion soon signed on to the cause. Now the group had the experience of a veteran youth minister and overseas missionary, to go with the youthful vigor and wisdom from the pulpit. We began with prayer. We meet together regularly to pray about this effort. We ask you to pray with us for the strength of our ministers and missionaries to overcome the obstacles which can stand in the way of the God's truth being taught. HOMM is dedicated to preserving the individuals spreading the gospel. Our goal is "As long as we are alive the Lord will have a church", and with that as long as men and women are teaching the gospel they will have a place to live and heal when necessary. HOMM continues to set goals for the organization in order to become a valuable arm of the Lord's service. We look into scripture and see the greatness of many in the work of the Lord. Caleb has the attitude we wish to capture as he was offered his share of the inheritance of the Promised Land. Joshua 14:6-12. Congregational autonomy leaves families vulnerable to crisis in transitional periods. In the Churches of Christ congregations are autonomous as far as governing is concerned. We recognize this as being the scriptural example for the Lord's church. This being the case it leaves families who are dependant on congregations vulnerable to transitional periods which can leave them devastated. Missionary families are vulnerable to "reverse culture shock" when attempting to return to the U.S.A. HOMM is not trying to be involved in the oversight of any church works, but rather the support of dependant families through crisis situations. |
